Multiple lightning strikes very close together started this range fire. This was in september of 07, I was recovering from double knee replacement and was confined to my home. I made this shot out my bedroom window. It took the rural fire departments of two counties to bring it under control after two days of battling rising winds. About five thousand acres of prime range-land was lost, but no lives or significant property. This photo was shot at about twelve miles from the fire front.

Great theme entry. I beg to differ with Tani as I believe fire resulting from a lightning strike (or in this case multiple strikes) is definitely Severe Weather.

Isn't it strange how some of the most beautiful things in nature are also the most detructive.....fire, tornados, hurricanes, etc.
