Strips of Japanese paper, Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan
I was out teaching one of my photography students and we were looking particularly at the creative use of depth of field.
Asakusa has a few long, indoor shopping arcades and at night they are usually really cool places to walk and shoot.
These strips of Japanese hand-made paper were hanging up outside a shop.
My 85mm f/1.4 lens is a beauty for the 'creative use of depth of field' type subject and I shoot it a lot of the time.
Quite often for my students the first thing they buy after their DSLR and kit-lens is a 50mm f/1.8, as it's a cheap starter lens for bokeh and a great walking lens anyway.
