I shot this on my Nikon D300 DSLR but with my "old friend" lens; a 1979 manual-focus 50mm f/1.2 AI.

The bokeh is just amazing and although it is damned hard to focus, when you get it right it is a sharp lens but the depth of field is obviously very shallow.

This girl was sat the traffic lights waiting for them to change, just by the crazy and famous crossing in Shibuya.

I asked her in Japanese if she minded if I took her picture: no problem she said.

I used this picture recently for a show I had here in Tokyo, based around shooting 'wide open' with Nikon's big aperture lenses.
