The road less traveled..
My journey started on day 4th (Tuesday) I decided to drive this area unknown to me, I thought it cant be that bad... oh yeah right, my heart was in my throat all the time, left hand on the steering wheel, camera on the right I took this photo, and this isnt the worst part. When I got to the end of the unpaved road and it widened to 2 lane I felt the biggest relief and accomplishment yes I survived and did it by myself. I thought to myself, what was I thinking, and said never again... this road was about 8+ miles narrow winding dirt road North of Wailuku, Kahekili HWY 340 to Honolua Bay.... but the following day was another story.. I drove and took the back road to Hana.
I dont have current photos of my parents and to them I dedicate this photo, for I know they will not be a bit surprised I did this, they know me all too well.

I like the effect that the black & white give this. I does make the road look more lonely. Love the story too, Mayette. There is nothing quite like a parents love that sends us on our way with the faith in us that we can do anything..

A wonderful photo and caption/dedication to your Parents. Looking at it from a parent's view, it is like raising a child and watching them go down that long, lonesome road of life for the first time, and the relief/joy when it finally becomes a paved, well populated avenue. Perfect in b/w and for the theme.
