The magical "golden hour" just between night and sunrise,when the air is still and cool and quiet. Morning commuter rush hour out on the open desert road to Sossussvlei kickin' up dust. Namibia.

This is a VERY unusual shot— 1] mountainous scenes rarely display so lightly and brightly; and 2] skies are almost never this color. The result is expressed in this equation: 1 + 2 = MAGNIFICENT African desert image!! The Jeep stands out perfectly against the dust cloud it has created… its own separate “layer” fronting the hills and traversing nearly the entire scene! Even the road and grasses are light and bright, and against them the tree, signs and poles perform their own interesting and symmetrical magic. NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC!! Kudos big, BIG time, Mike!!!
