this is a very long time exposure, approximately 4 hours under a full moon, which is the very right object near the top right of the frame. Originally shot on transparency film, I digitised image. The subject matter is Uluru, otherwise known as ayers rock, in central Australia. I took this image in 1981, and since I didn't have a tripod, I simply placed my camera on the ground outside my tent. Opened the shutter, and went to sleep. In the foreground, you can see the remains of my campfire. The bright line to the left, is a planet, I'm not sure which one. The bright line travelling horizontally, near the base of the Rock, was made by cars travelling past.
