Ok, put the camera down on the ledge and started snapping and adjusting the time. Had 2 or 3 that came out pretty good. Chestnut Street Bridge in Nashville, Tn.

This shot was "from the hip" but in a scientific way...

I see this setting every time I leave one of the baseball games. The Nashville Sounds, minor league baseball team, play right around the corner and I have always thought it would be a great photo.

I set my camera to manual focus, cranked it up to infinity just to be sure, set the camera down on the ledge of the bridge and pointed it in the direction of the skyline. I started with an average shutter speed, took 2-4 shots, dialed down the shutter speed, took 2-4 shots, dialed down, shots, dialed down, shots, etc... did this until I couldn't go any slower.

It turned out that around 13 seconds was the winning shot. But was neat to see the different effects and results of the lighting with the wide range of shots that I took.

Pretty good experience and experiment. If you get a chance and have a favorite spot, give it a try...

Nope, unposed and from the hip, but in a scientific way. Set the camera to manual focus, set it to infinity, put camera down on ledge of bridge pointed at the skyline. Took 2-4 shots, dialed down shutter speed, took 2-4 shots, dialed down, 2-4, dial, 2-4, etc... Took it home and this one looked the best out of 30+ shots.
