The Exactitutes series by Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek are a lasting inspiration because of the smart way of framing sub-cultures and related dress-codes. It is astonishing how Ari and Ellie manage to show us how unique and the same we are. They started their project in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) in the nineties and are still shooting series in the exactitutes theme, all over the world. The latest shoot took place in Selfridges in London. It looks as if a lot of styling is involved, but the opposite is true. They literally pick people from the street that exactly match the series and invite them to the studio to pose identical. Other series in the book are Tattoo Babes, Combat Girls, Casual Queers, Bouncers, Chairmen and many others. Last year a second Exactitutes was published with 010 publishers.
