"ON HIS OWN"
In an eons old 'coming of age ritual' this long yearling cub is experiencing his first taste of reality on his own. I sat for half an hour watching mother bruin explaining to her cub it was time he was off to see the world for himself...a few paw slaps and a growl or two seemed convincing as the youngster wandered off, stopping now and then to look back. Getting no invitation to return, he stopped in the chokecherries, nibbled a few and then went on his way.
