I am not a super fan of using high ISO on the D80, but it can be fixed in Post, and SOMETIMES, it can give your photographs Character, and a film-like grain.

I do like this Candid Portrait Though ;-)

I shoot with a D80 too and have had problems with the hi ISO. What's the secret?

No big secret Aaron! I use High ISO NR set to High, and I clean up all that I can in Photoshop. It is the nature of the beast! Ideally, I'd like to stay at 400 and below, but circumstances don't always allow...even with an f/1.8 lens.

Great candid shot. I usually don't like the grain but it works well here.

I like the grain in this photo, adds detail to the "locks" and adds to the feel of the photo

I like the way his face is in sharp focus, while the rest of the photo is not. It makes you focus on his face. Very nice candid.

I really want to get the H3D mark II that came out it is 50megapixels. I shoot in a lot of low light so I know all about high iso. you have some great shots. Looking forward to seeing more and more of your work.
