I walk past this building a lot on my way back and forth from downtown Eureka and my house. One lucky day I happened to catch this scene, and have my camera on me.
My favorite part is the bird on the right...
This is one of my first successful attempts at creating an High Dynamic Range image, or H.D.R. It is really three pictures, taken in a row using my Auto Exposure Bracketing on my Rebel XT.
The pictures were taken hand-held, as I didn't have my tripod on me when I caught this scene.

amazing!!! i love how the eye isn't drawn to only one item but is pulled to multiple aspects of the photo.

I cannot believe I have looked at your stuff this many times and never read any of the info...I thought some things (especially this house) looked familiar..I really miss those clouds..I lived in Arcata/Eureka for about 15 years..really want to go back..I worked at a very well known and high end fabric shop in Arcata for about 10 years...small world huh?
oh and BTW..I love this shot!
