At the Longshan Temple in Taipei, Taiwan, candles are lit in bundles, and from these incense sticks are lit by worshippers at this famous Taiwanese temple. Dating from 1783, it was built over five years by Fujian immigrants to Taiwan. You need to see this temple to fully appreciate it, its ancient wooden structure, the throng of people and the strong presence of the perfumed smoke of candles and incense sticks.
