Wow--nice picture. I used to work in a physics lab for a professor who studied soap films and my experiment setup was very similar to what this is. The film near the top is colorless because it is thinner than the wavelength of light. One of the really interesting phenomena that occur is that while the majority of the liquid goes down with gravity, near the edges it swirls upward. At any rate nice picture!
