Went to the Bryant Lake Bowl "Rock for Democracy" block Party this past Saturday. They had bands, skateboarding and roller derby ligned up for the event. Unfortunately it rained for a good amount of the day so the ground was wet and the derby girls didn't skate. But the skaters brought out all their stuff and swept the area they were in with brooms and then brooms with towels to get the area dry. They constructed what they called the "red wave" it was basically four progressively bigger bumps that you had to ollie into ride the bumps and then manage to pull a trick off the last bump. I guess they re-created a skate spot in downtown minneapolis that has been skate-stopped so they can't skate it anymore. Well it got darker and darker but they pulled out the lights and kept skating. lots of cash was given out for the first to pull different called tricks.
