A prairie storm cloud dwarfs an abandoned homestead on Alberta's prairie landscape. While it looks like the little house will be smashed to bits by the fury of a coming storm, the front actually was passing by well to the East. After close to 100 years, this little house will continue for another day, at least.

The green of the sky is so unnatural and yet so compelling. Makes you want to run from the coming storm, GREAT!

Fantastic storm. Yes, I too wonder about the green sky. If it is for real, even more of a wow! Great scene and well captured.

Hey folks, thanks for the props and the favourites. I have done no colour adjustment to the image, but I have done a separate curves layer for sky and for ground to create best contrast for each. It is not unusual for severe thunderstorms to take on a green cast. This is caused by dust and debris being caught up by the wind and carried into the cloud - think Dorothy and the wicked witch riding by on her bike.
Cheers,
Thomas -
