Philippine Coast Guard pursuit vessel.
Jolo, Sulu Island, Philippines.
Their Coast Guard
looks the other way at Barter Trade activity even today. They only ask they be conducted out of sight. They get small gifts from Traders, such as a carton of cigarettes, or a fifth of whiskey. While they could be viewed as bribes, they are too insignificant to be regarded as such.
The Barter Trade today only traffics in predominantly Moslem communities.
