Earthworm

during flooding events such as the surge from Hurricane Ike, worms are forced out of the ground by the hundreds. most don't find dry ground and end up drowning. this photo was taken through shallow water and afterwards, this lucky worm was relocated to higher ground.

    They definitely do not like very wet earth. Every time we have a storm dozens end up drowned in the pool. Glad this one got relocated.

    thank you Pascal! i was quite surprised at the results. i think i could do these photos even better with my polarizing filter on. Also this photo requires just the right amount of darkening for focus.
