Ike has a long reach
Taken Friday morning, 9.12.08 ... under the waters is a street and parking area of the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club, Bay St. Louis, MS ... and we're about 300 miles from landfall! Shot this while standing in knee-deep water in the middle of the beach road.

Ike has a VERY long reach - we got slammed by severe flooding up here in Michigan, thanks to a shirttail of Ike that ran away. It's not often in Michigan you can say "We had problems with that hurricane..."
I think this is a very strong image.. I'm really drawn to it. It's so jarring. I hope you were dry when you took it. -

I agree... It was a huge storm. (from the Galveston TX area) It's hard to imagine all the destruction that he brought. Hope that you are safe and dry now.
