This is one of six abandoned cottages that were once used as a day care facility for a large hospital for severely mentally handicapped children. Each of these were very nicely built, but all were in advanced stages of decay. Inside, most of the items we found dated back to the 1970's - toys, children's clothing, kitchen utensils - it was as if they just walked away one day and never went back. Now, these cottages are home to raccoons, birds, and spiders, who's excrement and webs litter every surface.

What an amazing find. I'd love to explore there. I love how you've captured the mood you've described. Just perfect.
