In My Time of Dying was recorded and performed by Led Zeppelin, my favorite all-time band. Originally, the song was titled "Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed" and recorded as a gospel song by Blind Willie Johnson.
The plaster piece of Jesus shown here was obtained by an artist in Rome. The cross was blessed by Pope John Paul at the Vatican before he passed away. Together, the two represent my beloved father whom passed away a few hours before the Super Bowl, he knows how much I love football.
Each day I look upon the two important pieces and know I was blessed with a wonderful, loving father. One that I will never forget and treasure in my heart forever. He was a merchant marine and fought in the war while in the Army. He was debilitated for many years, but he was always a fighter. I watched him suffer in pain as Jesus did on the cross, both represent to me a Father.
To you dad, my father.....my mentor....and always my hero.....
