Mid-Autumn Dancer #3
The second night I went to shoot the Mid-Autumn Dancer, I was rewarded with this – which I consider a truly “lucky” shot.
Although I had composed the image more or less this way, it all happened very fast and I never expected her eyes to be so close to the edge of the picture. A slight shift in position and her eyes would have gone out, rendering this image not worth showing.
As it turned out, the eyes barely made it in – the image is uncropped – giving rise to a somewhat unconventional composition.
