peak hour, sydney harbour, with the sydney ferries in full flight. this photo was my first night time photography mission ever (film). my first open shutter experience. just me and pat malone (on my own) up on the cahill expressway, last few weeks of winter, freezing my little butt off. it was so worth it. i left the shutter open a bit longer cause i wanted to a. freeze a little bit more and b. show how the city glows. as it does every night on my way home to bondi. i wont forget this first shoot too soon. i'll give ya the tip.
this photo was also inspired by a photo i saw by legendary australian photographer max dupain. i saw a photo he took of sydney harbour from the south pylon of the harbour bridge way back when, with the ferry lights looking so sweet. there was a lot less traffic then, but straight away i thought, i'm in.
also props to trev as well. it was my first time shooting for a while with out him, so i must have called him 6 times through out the night just to ask advice or yell at him through the phone as the big manly/circular quay ferries strolled through. you can see it at the bottom right. the old queenscliff. another sydney icon. theres so many. i love my home.
