John White's Ladder- Carlsbad Cavern
This ladder was built by the 16 year old young man that discovered the cavern. Built in 1924, it was used during a 6 month exploration and survey sponsored by the National Geograophic Society. The wire ladder descends 90 feet into Lower Cave.

Hey Renee, is this at the Carlsbad Beach in Calif. Please excuse my ignorance (and I havent even "Googled it" but I am totally curious as I have been there twice and have never heard of the place. I stayed at South Carlsbad State Beach............I would have killed to see this place if it's the same area. Great image and it instills mystery and imagination instantly. Love it.
