NYC - near Times Square. I paid this man a dollar so he would not cover up his sign. I wish I would have given him more. Some may think this is funny and it is...but I find it mostly sad.
I think it was essential that I took this at night. 9:55 PM 1/15 shutter speed.

I think the strength here is the focus on the face. The sign is a funny classic, but the details of the face are the kind of grit you would not think to expect from a bum. At least not me - I'm usually the blurry Asian dude walking past.
