My photographic journey of The Golden State began in Dec 2006 when I rewarded myself with a Nikon D50 outfit. Since then I have navigated the California coast from the Marin Headlands down to Hearst Castle, then back up to capture San Francisco and Napa Valley. I look for the unusual, the out of the way, the dramatic. Since my camera does most of the hard work, I am free to focus on the composition and lighting. I use automatic or scene settings, and my style is more documentary than artistic.
