My photographic journey of The Golden State began in December 2006 when I rewarded myself with a Nikon D50. Since then I have travelled along the California coast from the Marin Headlands to Hearst Castle, then back to capture San Francisco and Napa Valley. I search for the unusual, the out of the way, the dramatic. Since my camera does most of the work, I am free to focus on the composition and lighting. I mostly use automatic or scene settings and my style is more documentary than artistic.
