I am a free lance photography assistant in the Chicago area who focuses primarily on food. By keeping it in its raw state, I am able to create an atmosphere of grotesque beauty. They are based off of Renaissance still lifes from the lighting to the subject matter. Because the lighting is one of the strongest features in the work, I keep the content simple and to the point, causing the viewer to have to focus on the minimal. In all its a sarcastic and quirky take on the everyday edible.
