Born in Haifa in 1957, Dubi Roman's art is deeply rooted in his family's spiritual history and geographical location. Roman's family has lived in the holy city of Safed for five generations. Although Dubi lives in the heart of Tel Aviv, he constantly looks to nature for sustenance and searches for amongst the landscape of Israel's, trees, fields and flowers. Inspired by Impressionist painting, Roman developed his unique photographic technique, using nothing but an old Nikon film camera.
