I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Ice cream is a great year-round treat, but especially enjoyed in the height of summer.

This cool treat can be lapped from various containers, but, none could possibly be more fun than a crunchy edible cone! The ice cream cone first made its appearance in 1904 at the World's Fair in St. Louis and has been around in England for much longer. What we know for sure is that the ice cream cone is one of the most loved ways to enjoy ice cream among young and old across the world... and there seems to be a lot of nostalgia for crying kids holding empty cones and their dropped melting ice cream puddling on the ground below.

While there are many flavors of ice cream, from the mundane to the exotic, the most popular in America is vanilla, with chocolate coming in a close second. However, ice cream may be stepping out of the box, with ingredients like jalapeno, pickles, rosewater, goat cheese, rosemary... and the list goes on; creating concoctions that are savory, spicy, sweet and DELECTABLE!

Maybe not everyone feels this way, but studies show that if you are among the American population, there is a good chance that you are feeling a little overwhelmed. Gridlock, alone, could cause rage, but, the economy, the housing market, cost of living and finding a job (this being just the tip of the iceberg) could be what is increasing America's collective blood pressure. The American dream, the land of opportunity, does it still exist? If so, is it still worth fighting tooth and nail for?

With summer months in full swing and more daylight to fill, fisherman have taken to the waters, with evidence of their pastime evident in the abundant fish remains left behind. Sure these little guys (and often big ones) taste fantastic filleted, battered and served with beer, rolled up for sushi or fried up with some eggs, but we tend to forget where things have come from when they are reduced to a mouth-watering aroma wafting from our plate. These JPG images show the uglier side of fish preparation and for some who stray away from meat, a sadder side to fish and chips.

The Woman in Red

The woman in red.... Is she smart? Confident? Sexy? Or is this woman in red evil?

What we see in pop culture, the cinema, and literature, has us examining the meaning of red and the intention when a woman is dressed or surrounded by the color red. The woman may feel sexy or confident when wearing this color that exudes health, power and vitality, but, is it coming across to the audience as something else? In storytelling, whether novels or movies, the symbolizing of a color is to be expected. You see this in a story like The Scarlet Letter which reveals the sin of adultery through the color red. In the book Ethan Frome, the character Mattie often wears red signifying her good health and vitality which differentiates her from the other characters. In the new "Evil Dead" reboot, the red dress that actress Jane Levy wears solidifies the creepiness in the film.

Despite being the object of perhaps the best-known fetish, one of the most neglected parts of the body is the foot. Sure your feet are sweet and precious when you're a baby, but as you grow, without a lot of TLC and through considerable use and abuse, they become far less adorable.

This oft under-appreciated albeit well worn appendage has 26 bones, more than 100 muscles, 33 joints and many ligaments, so there are ample opportunities to abuse this delicate extremity. There are over 21 ailments that can afflict a foot... from gout and athlete's foot to plantar fasciitis and fractures, just to name few. Cramming your feet into shoes a size too small, stubbing your toe into a stationary object(which is one of the most painful and frustrating things to do to yourself), and walking barefoot across hazards of all kinds... all wreak havoc on your poor feet.
